Vitamix 7500 Overview
Vitamix 7500

Powerful 2.2 HP motor

Noise reduction technology
-
Low profile 64 oz container
The Vitamix 7500 belongs to the G-series family. Also known as the Next Generation Series, they are a newer line of Vitamix blenders that feature a sleek, modern design, improved motor cooling, and updated features and functions.
One of those updated features is a more powerful and efficient motor, rated at a peak output of 2.2 horses. This means the Vitamix 7500 is just as versatile as the Vitamix 5300 at tackling a wide range of recipes. The motor’s cooling system is similarly equipped with a radial cooling fan and thermal protection system. During testing, regardless of what was thrown at it, from fibrous vegetables to nut butters, its motor housing never got more than slightly warm to the touch.
The blender’s control interface is also the same as the Vitamix 5300 in its simplicity and ease of use. A Pulse switch and Variable Speed dial are what you get, and frankly all most folks will need. That said, at this price point it would have been nice if the 7500 came with pre-programmed settings for common blending tasks like smoothies, frozen desserts and hot soups. Programmed settings take the guesswork out of blending and make it easier to achieve consistent results.
The trade-off with most high performance blenders is they can be quite loud in operation. Thankfully, despite its powerful motor we found the Vitamix 7500 to be relatively quiet when in use. This is thanks to the blender’s noise-reduction design, which includes a vibration dampening system and insulated motor housing.
WHAT WE LIKE
- Exceptional build quality
- Powerful 2.2 HP motor
- Noise-reduction features
- Compact design
WHAT WE DON’T LIKE
- No pre-programmed settings
- Still louder than some competitors
- Blender pitcher is hard plastic (not glass)
Comparison
Now let’s put these blenders toe-to-toe and look at some of their distinguishing features.
The Motor
Both the Vitamix 5300 and the Vitamix 7500 feature high-performance motors, but they have some differences in terms of power and design.
The Vitamix 5300 is equipped with a powerful 2.2-horsepower motor, providing robust blending capability suitable for a wide range of ingredients, including tough fruits and vegetables, nuts, and ice.
In contrast, the Vitamix 7500 also features a powerful motor, but it operates at 2.2 peak horsepower, which translates to approximately 1.5 actual horsepower. While slightly lower in horsepower compared to the 5300, the 7500 still delivers impressive blending performance and can handle most blending tasks with ease.
Another key difference between the two models is the design of their motors. The Vitamix 5300 utilizes a slightly older motor design compared to the Vitamix 7500.
Although both motors are designed to be durable and long-lasting, if you’re looking for the newer tech the Vitamix 7500 will edge out the win there.
The Blades
The Vitamix 5300 incorporates a laser-cut, stainless steel blade assembly, known for its precision and durability. This blade design is optimized for blending a wide variety of ingredients, ensuring thorough blending from coarse to fine textures.
In contrast, the Vitamix 7500 also utilizes a stainless steel blade assembly, but it features a slightly different design. The blades are aircraft-grade and are designed to handle tough ingredients with ease, resulting in smooth and consistent blends.
Although there are slight differences, both blender models feature four-pronged blades that are strategically positioned to create a powerful vortex within the container, pulling ingredients down towards the blades for efficient blending.
In other words, the blade performance of both blenders is equally matched.
Noise Level
The Vitamix 5300, while powerful, can be relatively noisy during operation, especially at higher speeds.
The combination of a powerful motor with the spinning action of the blades creates a significant amount of noise, which may be noticeable in quieter environments.
On the flip side, the Vitamix 7500 is designed with noise reduction in mind. Its motor base is engineered to minimize vibration and sound, resulting in a quieter blending experience compared to the Vitamix 5300. While it may still produce some noise, especially at higher speeds, the overall sound level is generally lower.
However, it’s essential to note that noise perception can vary depending on individual sensitivity and the specific ingredients being blended.
Both blenders are powerful workhorses, but if noise level is a primary concern, the Vitamix 7500 will be your preferable choice between the two blenders.
Price
In general, the Vitamix 5300 tends to be priced slightly lower than the Vitamix 7500. This price difference may be attributed to various factors, including the fact the 5300 uses an older motor and does not have the noise dampening features of the 7500.
However, we’re talking about a premium product range. And when you combine the performance with its more affordable pricing, the Vitamix 5300 offers excellent value.
The Vitamix 5300 is often considered a mid-range option within the Vitamix lineup, and is similar to the Vitamix E320 in that it’s slightly more accessible to consumers.
On the other hand, the Vitamix 7500 is positioned as a premium model with enhanced features and design elements compared to the 5300. As a result, it tends to command a higher price point. While it may be more expensive than the 5300, if money is no object, then many users will find the added benefits and refinements of the 7500 justify the investment.
Our Verdict: Vitamix 5300 or Vitamix 7500?
After careful consideration of both the Vitamix 5300 and the Vitamix 7500, our verdict leans towards recommending the Vitamix 7500 as the top pick for most users.
While both blenders offer exceptional blending performance and durability, the Vitamix 7500 gets ahead due to its quieter operation and more refined design. The 7500’s noise reduction technology makes it a more pleasant option for everyday blending tasks.
While the Vitamix 5300 is a solid choice with its better affordability and robust performance, the 7500’s overall package of features, including its quieter operation and newer motor, make it the preferred option for those seeking a premium blending experience.
And if you’re curious, we’ve got a separate review comparing how our winner stacks up to another classic, the Vitamix E320.
